Working
Second weekend on call.
So, ahem, that's what the offer was.
Full time position.
Haven't done that since B.C. (before children)
I imagine some crankyness will ensue.
I will have to work hard on that.
More work for me. Yay.
Marshmallows are the best thing about diet Hot Chocolate.
and Love Actually is my new favorite Christmas movie. I also love it because if I'm watching it I know the kids are in bed. Totally for grown ups.
oh and another thing: Magistical Memories is selling their first ever Christmas Kit, and it's faboo! I'm working on a little som'n-som'n right now.
oh and another-another thing: 3 Scrappy Boys hosts challenges every week, and the winner gets a gc to the site! So far, the competition is scarce, so if you start in now, your odds are great!!!

Day in the Life: first half
Let me start by saying that I have reached my maximum (apparently) on the number of photos I'm allowed in each post. So, the morning starts with a crabby little girl, a cheerful little boy, breakfast, lunches," get dressed, brush hair and teeth, socks and shoes, make bed, backpack and lunch." Don't be fooled. I have to say all those things every morning.
7:55- still crabby
7:56: things are starting to look up. I sorta like it when I get to take Bo by myself, cause he always gives me two hugs and two kisses with a stern reminder to pass one of each on to Emma.
8:05: Don't want to miss a thing!
8:17- Emma cheers up enough to "get cute"
8:40: Looks like it's time for me to do the same
9:00: Em's at school, headed to work in the ice.
11:00 Icier.
1:00 Home safe, only to turn around and go get the kids out of school, cause there's an excused absence due to the weather, and I decide to be the "cool" mom.
1:10: Really sad to see me coming.

Day in the Life: second half
Once again, words will have to fill in the blanks. From 2-4 there is popcorn, hot chocolate and Star Wars. And SNOW!!!
3:45 An offer I don't refuse
4-5 Emma and I bake the first batch o' Christmas cookies
4-5 while the boys play game cube
5:30 Leftover pizza and the Immigrant Song ala Jack Black "RONK-gonga-GEEcha! RONK-gonga-GEEcha!" (kids have not seen or heard this, but they love singing it.)
6:00 over to goody and
grandad's in snow and ice
7:00 mom reads to kids
after I demonstrate the
marvels on online christmas shopping.
10:30
toenails painted during "School of Rock" and off to bed.

muzak
You've reached Sarah's blog.
She is currently busy right now, but if you would like to hold, she will be with you as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Buon Giorno
If only it weren't 30 minutes away.
Not that it stops me from going, but it sure would be nice.
It's called Buon Giorno and I could (and have) spend many hours there. Jenny has created a warm, hip, inviting, stimulating environment. She is so fabulous with design, and she has worked so hard. I feel very proud to have helped just a little.
Here's a little creation called a Tuscany Mocha. Dark chocolate and orange. I've never had a refreshing coffee before. It was faboo.
This is the "six o'clock lounge" otherwise known by some of the adults (who obviously know things) as "make-out room."
Emma and Mom at the counter. It's her last day to be four. She'll be five tommorrow.
sigh.
Jen painted this table. Isn't it so cool? She is just oozing talent, is our Jenny.
So tommorrow is the Princess Party. I'm so excited about her present, I could just spit. I mean it. And I could also spit because I went to Target at 9:30 at night to get a new battery for my camera and they were OUT. grr. We do have the movie camera though. Watch this space.
PS. the coffee shop is in Grapevine, if you are in the area.

Scraps and a Shout Out.
I don't know how people cover every square inch of their layouts and make it look symetrical, I really don't. The "amazing" one was a real effort, but I do love the way the Outside the Bubble chipboard from Magistical Memories looks! ;)
Props to my neice Sarah, who casually mentioned to her mother that in the free throw shooting fund raiser for her school, she made 97 out of 100 shots.
97 out of 100.
she is a sophomore.
let me repeat that.
97 out of 100.
That (ahem) is the current NBA record for consecutive free throws. (ahem).
Ya heard?

The Cuteness
Look at that scar on his eye. That makes him Anikin. I drew it on there. Me, the one who didn't want him to be Darth Vader for halloween. Why? I didn't want him to be a bad guy. But I guess a young bad guy is better than an old bad guy. Ah, the dichotomys of motherhood.
Now Tinkerbell was just cute. Cute, cute, cute. Golden Sparkly hair. The turquoise ribbon. The pink cheeks and lips. Ceeee-yoot. Em and I painted that wand together. I was going to add some ribbons, but she wanted it just "gween and sparkwy." Who am I to argue with that? She called me in her room tonight (about an hour after she had gone to bed) saying "Mama! I neeeeeeeed you!" When I went in to tell her that she probably didn't, she said "Mama, don't forget to start the laundry tonight." I don't know whether to be impressed with her domesticity or to just be insulted.
Random thought. When some one throws a lighted cigarette out of their car, and I run over it, there is a split second that I am certain that my car is going to explode. I am always very relieved when that doesn't happen.

and take me with you. I only wish it was a book, cause I want to be on the couch with a blanket and hot tea- reading it all day long.
Watching The House of Elliot series again, which is enjoyable.
The weather is cool. Like, sweaters cool.
Like my fragmentalized writing style tonight is.....
uh,
cool.
and not at all related to my fatigue.
Talking of which, I have clean sheets and the down duvet, and so I will to bath and bed.
Oh, and you know what else is good? This. Much chuckling.
Alright.
good stuff.
and cool.

"Maybe it's the music." "Maybe it isn't only the music."
One is: Happy Birthday to my Mom two days ago!!
and the other is: Happy birthday to my sister tommorrow!!!
Mom, Dad, Bill and I went out for mom's birthday and saw Flyboys.
Now, perhaps it had to do with my pilot dad, but I have to say I LOVED this movie. Loved it. And so did all the peeps with me. Go see it, cause it's not being very seen, and it's worth a look.
And I'm stealing an idea from Meghan's blog, cause it made me curious. Then it made me giggle when I looked. It's the Top 25 songs on your Ipod. Here goes:
Defying Gravity- Wicked
Something in the Way She Moves- James Taylor
Gold Digger- Kanye West
The Secret of Time- Charlie Peacock
Blessing in Disguise- Margaret Becker (along the road)
She- Elvis Costello (Notting Hill soundtrack)
In Christ Alone- Lost in Wonder
Head Over Feet- Alanis Morrisette
Ain't No Sunshine- Bill Withers (Notting Hill soundtrack)
No Place Closer to Heaven- Charlie Peacock
Here I am to Worship- Lost in Wonder
Unwritten- Natasha Bedingfield
Ain't No Other Man- Christina Aguilera
Popular- Wicked Soundtrack
Sh-Boom- The Chords (Cars Soundtrack)
Digee Dime- Burlap to Cashmere
Tea for Two- Ella Fitzgerald
They Can't Take that Away From Me- Ella Fitzgerald
Girlfriend- Matthew Sweet
Life is a Highway- Rascal Flatts (Cars Soundtrack)
Night and Day- Ella Fitzgerald
I Write Sins Not Tragedies- Panic at the Disco
It's the End of the World as We Know It- R.E.M
No One Like You - David Crowder Band (Not really sure how this one made the list!)
Hunter- Dido
Does this strike you as a strange sort of list? It does me!
The ones in green are my favs as of this week. Along with the Something's Got to Give soundtrack which Mom gave me. LOVE it. I just downloaded Snow Patrol's song Chocolate, with gratitude to Klala, and Chasing Cars is just a great, great, great song.
Michelle's got a new line out, which I can't wait to get my hands on.

Scraps o' Life
Emma-isms.
"I am a soccer star!"
"He is so generous!" (after Bo gave her a flower)
"God made the flowers on the trees for them to wook beautiful, and God made the flowers on the ground for us to pick."
"What does ______ mean?" insert any of the following words: somewhere, sometimes, perhaps, maybe, which, later, somethings, I don't know, we'll see. Apparently our girl is not a fan of ambiguity.
And one for the dare:

Great Day in the Afternoon.
A Chagall exibit in North Dallas with Sisters and Mother.
oh.
oh.
oh.
And if THAT wasn't enough. A fortuitious stop at a very shwah-shwah shopping center.
And WHAT should my poor eyes behold but THIS.
As the sopranos started singing in my head, I reluctantly followed the others (who have had the good fortune to have been in an Urban Outfitters before) to Rockfish for some killer snacks.
and then on to the place.
where I almost started to cry a little.
think of her ALOT.
wished I were rich.
thanked my stars that I had brought some of my "saving money" with me.
and bought this.
Skip-to-my-lou'd right out of there.
and also, I've been scrapping again. I'm currently taking a break from making my layout for this in order to blog. But blogspot obviously thinks I've hit my limit on photos tonight. Perhaps later....
it's been a very good weekend.

Winners and I Had a Thought....
Bo picked number 3- which is Kimber-Leigh
and
Emma picked number 15- which is Jill
Yay!!!!
Alrighty then.
I've slacked with the blogging.
I'm back on caffeine, but not as on it as I once was.
I had a wonderful wonderful weekend for many reasons, but not the least of which was April-
my dear friend.
it was wonderful.
like I want to write all things sappy sounding, but they won't go far enough.
But I will say that I love her dearly, and am priviledged not only to have her in my life, but to have her as my friend.
Thank you so much for who you are, and for coming...
oh, and for marathon scrapping with me Monday night. Can you believe we each started and finished a mini book? I really can't! So much fun!
I'm still sitting here five minutes after I typed that last paragraph, trying to put into words what ...how....who
ug. I just can't. Thank you Lord for April. Thank you again. I'm so grateful.
Alison blogged that there are things she has in her daily life that are very important to her, but which don't make it on to the blog often. This made me think about blogging and how there really is a line which I don't cross. I think the line has receded a bit recently, and I'm a bit more comfortable with it there. I tend to post how I feel about things, not necesarily the things themselves. If you know me well enough, you can tell how I feel by the way I write. Do you bare your soul on your blog? I mean, isn't that really hard when so much of what makes us tick is the people around us, and they are all reading it? I have a couple of times here and in scrapbook pages, and it is sometimes freeing and sometimes nauseating. I have enough going on in my life without adding nausea. So unless I think it will help someone, it's pretty much just gonna be
scrapbooking
daily life
cute children
and how these things relate to moi,
but I will try to make it as witty and interesting as possible.
So far not so much.

Alrighty kids. It's time for a RAK.
It seems to me there's been a powerful amount of contests and design team calls and stuff and suches coming out. For a few it's very elating. A few of those are my dear friends. YAY for Alisonpea, Amber and Caroline! And Congrats to Jill for Poppy Art!!! So happy for you!!!
So let's make this a nice little contest. I'm giving away two RAKS of Magistical Memories chipboard shapes...and perhaps some other little goodies. All I ask is that you post a helpful hint or idea or thought regarding a scrapbook class. I will be doing one in September, and I really want it to be big fun!
Winner by random draw!!!
Made this for How Much is Too Much #11- use 25 office supplies
and this one of my sweet baby Emma in Destin years ago. She had pulled the coffee over on her dress, and had to sit through our pancakes with only a diaper on. She didn't seem to mind too terribly. Don't you love breakfast in open air cafes on the beach? Particularly ones with Locals in them? The best.

Good for Today.
Tostitos Flour Tortilla Chips with Lime.
Friends who have your back when you are being a bit Lame.
Apea,
Michelle,
you are the bestest.
A crock pot with food cooking in it.
A 12x12 album for 2.99. Yep. AND it's cute.
Waiting on the Lord, and trusting that His time is perfect.
and did I mention the Tostitos with Lime? Wowza.

To blog or not to blog? That is the question.
I'm disappointed today that I didn't make it on to round three of Last Scrapper Standing. Just bummed. And it stinks that I'm bummed. I loved my layout. So that's good, right? I have a layout I love? Yes. And I am rooting for all my girls that are moving on, with special love to the apea.
It's nice that it's Friday.
Had a lovely dinner over at Mom and Dads. Just scrumptious- feeding the body and the spirit.
The good news is that I have a scrapbook class just about booked, and it will hopefully turn into a monthly gig. I have been wanting to do this for a long time, and I hope that it is fun!!
Did a new picture of myself today: Big difference between summer and winter (see profile photo)
Bought some clay for Emma at Hobby Lobby. She made many rainbow snakes and a rainbow salad. I loved watching her hands become more and more covered in the colors.
So that's it. Have a good weekend!!!
