Hello Alls!
It seems to me there's been a powerful amount of contests and design team calls and stuff and suches coming out. For a few it's very elating. A few of those are my dear friends. YAY for Alisonpea, Amber and Caroline! And Congrats to Jill for Poppy Art!!! So happy for you!!!
So let's make this a nice little contest. I'm giving away two RAKS of Magistical Memories chipboard shapes...and perhaps some other little goodies. All I ask is that you post a helpful hint or idea or thought regarding a scrapbook class. I will be doing one in September, and I really want it to be big fun!
Winner by random draw!!!
Made this for How Much is Too Much #11- use 25 office supplies
and this one of my sweet baby Emma in Destin years ago. She had pulled the coffee over on her dress, and had to sit through our pancakes with only a diaper on. She didn't seem to mind too terribly. Don't you love breakfast in open air cafes on the beach? Particularly ones with Locals in them? The best.

Yay for all those that you mentioned and the good week that they're having...
Ok... class idea...
I always love when I see the rolodex classes at my LSS. I have never taken one, or made one, but I always think that they look really cool. I saw one about cocktails and I saw one for favorite must read books...
Good luck, Sarah!
Wish i was going to your class...one thing I always appreciate is good pacing. Start and end on time. I have had to leave two classes before with incomplete projects (granted, easy to finish at home) because it was already well past the end time and I had to get home...you know, to nurse my baby :)
Have a great time teaching...look forward to seeing pics of what you create!
Chocolate makes for a great class!
Just be yourself and they can't help but enjoy your skills! I surely enjoyed the one you did for us. You actually made me feel like what I scrapped was good....and I believed you!
awe, thanks for the love <3
i took this class once where you made a little mini album with circles attached to ribbon (made an accordion thing) and then you keep it in a cute little mini mason jar
rad class
love your LOs as always
Newbie scrapbookers always ask me for organizing tips - for their scraps or off-cuts.
I sort all my scraps of cardstock and/or papers into colours in envelopes, which I then put into a basket or rubbermaid tote....then I pull out scraps first before cutting into a new sheet.
Living on the prairies, we are all into money-saving tips so everyone likes swapping their scraps (what is someone's junk is another person's treasure) and since they are already sorted into colours - we just ask someone for a certain colour and then we have NEW exciting scraps to play with!!!
I love handouts...somethign I can take with me to remind me what we did in class...especially if you are creating a specific layout, have a diagram of the layout on your handout...that way if I don't finish during class time I can always finish at home without having to rely on my brain to remember what we did...and a healthy supply of chocolate never hurt either ;-)
I'm going to second the rolodex class idea...I think that sounds way FUN!
And, the handout thing. Yes, that is a good thing too! :)
Sorry, I have no original ideas...
(and YAY to all the girls that got super cool emails this week - so excited for them!)
I've never taken a class or taught one, but I think if I did take one, I'd prefer one on a technique or design principles. I'm not really into the whole "here's the LO we'll be making" thing. But maybe classes aren't like that. I don't know. So I guess that's my tip.
Congrats on the PI top ten! Love your LO's - especially the office supplies.
I've always liked it when they give "extra" stuff to take home. When they give out a handout - there is an extra project to do listed in detail...and the supplies you need to do it. It's always just a little thing. But it's great becauce you are always so excited about the class and doing a project you can't wait to do another one at home...then you get home and do not have the supplies. Make sense?
Kathryn
(where is your class/when I would love to come)
just be yourself
i'm sure that will be enough
and thanks for the love sarah
Well thank you Sarah. I don't have any tips for the class, but your layouts are beautiful!
You know I love seeing the evolution of your work. Love it. And, you are right, there seems to be a lot of contest and DT calls lately. Love seeing the wonderful people we know make them. Yay!! As for a class hint...
How about you have everyone make a name tag they can wear and scrap later about their experience at your class.
hi sarah! hmmm...i've never taken a class before so i don't have anything good to say but i agree with what missquiss said. congrats on the PI top 10! and hope have a great time with your class!
Starting and ending on time.
Having some snacks on the tables.
And door prizes makes people happy.
Oh and its always good to have the instructions for the project in case someone has to leave early.
